Lost Mode
Lost Mode helps locate and secure lost iOS/iPadOS devices. It is available only on supervised devices.
Note: Lost Mode requires iOS/iPadOS supervision. Unsupervised devices and macOS do not support this feature.
Enable Lost Mode
When you enable Lost Mode, the device is locked and a custom message is displayed on the lock screen. The device stops accepting incoming calls and notifications — only the lost message and an emergency call option are shown.
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Message | Yes | The message displayed on the lock screen (e.g., "This device is lost. Please call...") |
| Phone Number | No | A contact number displayed on the lock screen |
| Footnote | No | Additional text shown at the bottom of the lock screen |
Once enabled, the device enters Lost Mode and the lock screen displays the configured message, phone number, and footnote.
Disable Lost Mode
To turn off Lost Mode, send the Disable Lost Mode command from the device detail page. The device unlocks and returns to normal operation. The lock screen message and restrictions are removed.
Request Location
Send a Request Location command to get the device's current GPS coordinates. The device responds with its location, which is displayed on a map in the dashboard.
The location result includes:
- Latitude / Longitude — GPS coordinates
- Accuracy — horizontal accuracy in meters (lower is better)
- Timestamp — when the location was recorded by the device
Note: Location accuracy depends on the device's environment. GPS is most accurate outdoors. Indoor or urban areas may return lower accuracy or rely on Wi-Fi positioning.
View Last Known Location
The last known location is shown on an interactive map powered by OpenStreetMap. A marker indicates the device's position with an accuracy circle around it. The map is available on the device detail page under the location section.
Play Lost Mode Sound
Send the Play Lost Mode Sound command to play a loud sound on the device, even if it is set to silent. This helps locate the device when it is nearby but out of sight.
The sound plays at full volume regardless of the device's ringer or silent switch position. There is no way to stop the sound from the device itself — it stops automatically after a few seconds or when the device is unlocked.
